USP Decided to Contest General Elections

By LankaSocialist Correspondent

The USP has decided to contest in the forthcoming general elections in Sri Lanka. USP spokesman told lankaSocialist that the USP will participate in at least six districts. The final decisions on the districts to participate have not been made yet. However, the districts in the North and East will also be included in the list.

The Government of Sri Lanka decided to hold the general elections in April, 2010, to select 225 members to the parliament. Government backed forces have already started to strike anti-government individuals and masses who can be a threat to the government in the election.
